Kyoto Coffee Lounge

The lounge

Poured under the torii

A specialty coffee lounge in Brownsville with a Japanese heart and an anime streak.

Kyoto Coffee Lounge pours specialty coffee, matcha and tea on Stagecoach Trail in Brownsville, Texas. The name and the look come from Japan: a torii, a red sun, cherry blossoms, and a girl in a red kimono holding up a cup of coffee. She is printed on the cups, and she winks.

Inside, it is part tea house, part playroom: a pink espresso machine on a fluted oak counter, and a pink and gold throne chair.

On the menu

Coffee is the backbone: drip, Americano, cortado, lattes with house flavors, espresso tonics with elderflower or yuzu, and a pour over from single origins. Matcha comes as a latte, with strawberry or banana, or shaken with coconut lemonade. There are teas, Dragon Phoenix Jasmine Pearls among them, lemonades and the Kyoto energy drinks.

Every day one drink gets the spotlight. Today it is Kyoto Drip Cold Brew.

Kyoto the world.
